Navajo County utilizes a drone to help with survey results of roads.

On November 8th, Navajo County Public Works utilized an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to survey Aspen Road, between Mogollon Drive and Tonto Drive. The pilot, Engineering Project Manager Jason Owens,  completed two flights with the UAV to capture an updated aerial photo and to aid in our topographic survey. Assistant Public Works Director Bill Bess informed residents prior to the flyover, that a UAV would be used in the survey process.

According to local resident Pat Williams, “We want to thank our representative on the county board, Steve Williams, for helping to bring about the action taken by the county. Our roads are in pretty bad shape and we appreciate the county and Bill Bess’ efforts to fix them.”
