On December 11th at CAPPS Performing Arts Center the stage was set with that beautiful Grand Piano and six of Mrs. Gourley’s private music students – Aubrey Stidham, Lea Ann Hiers, Jayk Kelton, Anya Pitterle, Matthew Jones and Kenton Porter. Mrs. Gourley opened the program with her solo on piano, “Carol Of The Bells”.
With Mrs. Gourley’s opening words, “We might be few in numbers but we are mighty in music.” And, mighty they are as they walk forward with such confidence to perform for us. These students carry a heavy load of their regular school classes and extra music classes and most of them are multi-talented playing more than one instrument and voice as well and they have great support from family and community.
Mrs. Gourley ended the program with her solo song “White Christmas” and asked the audience to join in.
Thank you Mrs. Gourley for all that you continually give to our students and community.
“I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning.” — Plato
