On 11 March 2017 Officer Scott Badger of the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office conducted an “Active Shooter” exercise for the benefit of our community at the First Southern Baptist Church in Overgaard. C.E.R.T.’s Nina and Tom Triolo were in attendance, as the instructor presented various scenarios. A question was raised, regarding a local response team. Tom Triolo replied that C.E.R.T. members were trained to assist first responders in these emergency situations.

All participants will be listed as Pending Host Approval until they complete an application packet which includes a Letter of Endorsement, which is available online at CERT Train-the-Trainer Application, or online at: . Along with the application, please submit evidence of successful completion (i.e., copy of certificates, emails advising of successful completion) of the following FEMA classes:
•IS-100.b (Introduction to the Incident Command System) Required
•IS-700.a (National Incident Management System, An Introduction – Required
•IS-800.b (National Response Framework, An Introduction) – Required

Enrollment priority will be given to CERT volunteers in Navajo County. Others will be approved on a space-available basis. All enrollments will be pending, until eligibility is confirmed.
