On August 29th Marion Laurienti, a petite retired grandmother who looks like a perfect afternoon would be spent having tea and crumpets with her lady friends, harvested her first bear. “It has been a dream of mine for years,” Marion told me.

She and husband Joe love to hunt and is one of the reasons they retired to Overgaard a few years ago.

For this particular hunt they were accompanied by a friend who has trained hounds. “Those hounds did an amazing job,” Marion said. “This was my first hunt with a crossbow as well. I always used a rifle or shotgun. Her bear was harvested in 3C and was estimated to weigh around 200 pounds.
