Rim Community Library October News

  • Monthly movies for kids:

On the first Saturday of each month a movie will be shown from 10am-12noon. The movie for October is Halloweentown. Refreshments are provided for the children and they can check out books while there.

  • Story Time for preschoolers returns every Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00:

Students listen to a story and then have the opportunity to participate in an either an art activity or possibly some sort of sing-a-long through a video.

  • New Lego Club for Mountain Meadows students:

Mountain Meadows students are invited to join Lego club entitled Lego Imaginarium every other week on Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 at the library.  Students will need to sign up beforehand at Mountain Meadows.  There will be a  limited number of spaces, therefore sign up is important.  We are looking forward to this new opportunity for the children of Heber-Overgaard at the Rim Community Library.  If there are any questions about this opportunity, Paula Grigsby, Donna Harris, Sylvia Kennison and Brooke Anderson are the individuals planning and implementing this opportunity.  For information contact the library or Mountain Meadows elementary.  The first club meeting will be on Friday, October 20, 2017.

The library is still closing on Friday afternoon at 2:00pm due to a shortage of desk volunteers at the library.  If anyone is interested in becoming a desk volunteer, please inquire at Rim Community Library for an application and future contact.  We would love to be able to go back to our 5:00pm closure on Fridays.

Friends of the Library:

The FOL (Friends of the Library) held its Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on September 18th, to say thank you to all of the volunteers who keep the Rim Community Library open to our community and assisting with the fundraisers throughout the year which helps provide for equipment, computers, projectors and much more. The next FOL fundraiser is ‘For the Love of Chocolate’ in February; if you would like to help you can contact anyone at the library.  If you would like to join the FOL you can do so by visiting the library and filling out the FOL registration form. We have a wonderful group to work with and you men, this is not just for the ladies, you can join too. Our meetings are held at the library on the 1st Thursday of every month at 9:30 am.
